Helping passionate people with energy and vision drives me personally and professionally. I am deeply connected to the great folks in the New England startup scene from Boston to New York. I stay connected to the next wave of thinkers by mentoring and advising startup founders through organizations like MIT and SeaAhead.
I sit on the Advisory Council of SeaAhead, a startup platform catalyzing the bluetech economy in New England, and am a member of the Steering Committee of the SeaAhead Incubator, BlueSwell. I am also a technology advisor to maritime startup Attender.
From 2009-2014, I founded and ran Betaspring, one of the top 15 accelerators in the US, where I mentored and invested in 90 early stage startups.

I am particularly drawn to regenerative products and businesses that increase local, regional, and global resiliency.
A lifelong entrepreneur and early-stage startup leader, Owen has co-founded five ventures and four mission-driven organizations, and has invested in over 90 startups through Betaspring, a nationally ranked accelerator he founded in 2009. He is passionate about building products and systems that increase local, regional, and global resiliency.
Owen holds an S.B. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He regularly mentors and judges for entrepreneurship competitions including the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition and the Rabobank-MIT Food and Agribusiness Innovation Prize.
